Suggest treatment For Burning Sensation While Urinating And Blood In Urine

Hello: I went to my primary care physician because I thought I had a urinary tract infection since my urine was burning and had lower back pain and bloody urine with a severe headache. He prescribed Cipro because the office test showed yes and I may be antibiotic resistant due to an infection I had 15 months ago. Now the doctor called today and said the lab said the UTI was negative but I still have blood in my urine and it still burns. I am now considering a hospital visit because the problem still exists or should I make a urologist appointment?

Hi..Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

Most common cause for persistant burning sensation & blood while urinating after taking Ciprofloxacin is resistance to ciprofloxacin. Other reasons might be presence of kidney stones which could get dislodged as cause trauma responsible for reoccurred infection.
I would suggest you a ultrasound to rule out presence of kidney & urinary tract stones.

So its better to visit a hospital where you can get all facilities under one roof.

Hope this information helps
